SpotOn is a cutting-edge software company dedicated to redefining the merchant services industry. SpotOn combines payment processing with customer engagement and business management solutions, giving small and medium businesses the data and tools they need to run and grow their business. Our tools increase revenue and connect businesses with their customers using rewards, deals, online reviews, website building, and data analytics. Tools like these were previously only available to big businesses with big bankrolls and their own developers, but our platform caters to neighborhood stores, independent retailers, and other small to midsize businesses. We have our service deployed in many cities across the U.S. and Mexico.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Work in strong Android team build with seniors and mid developers
- Work in projects that follow the guidelines of clean architecture approach, SOLID and using many design patterns
- Work with MVVM/MVI architecture design pattern
What skill are we searching for?
- 2+ years of recent Android development experience. Ability to show code snippets and/or open-source projects are bonus points!
- Experience with Kotlin (the language we use)
- Familiar with RESTful APIs (and WebSockets is a nice to have) and how to use them from Kotlin-based Android applications
- Good knowledge of Android SDK
- Good understanding of object-oriented concepts and design patterns
- Ability to debug and profile applications
- Good English skills both written and spoken (min. B1 level)
- Experience in working in small teams and with version control systems (and if that’s Git, even better!)
Nice to have:
- Understanding of different Android application architecture patterns (MVP/MVVM/MVI)
- Understanding of abstraction (clean architecture approach)
- Intermediate knowledge of libraries commonly used in Android development (for instance Koin, RxJava, Retrofit, Room, Coroutines)
- Experience in multimodule separation by feature/layer
- Will to share their knowledge across Android teams
