Ruby on Rails Developer

At SonarHome we help people to make and execute the right decisions when selling or buying a property. We provide state-of-the-art technology to find the best price and build an optimal home sales strategy. We’re the market leader in Poland and expanding throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Our technology is built for markets where the data transparency is low, therefore we plan to become the no 1 player in valuation products across global emerging markets.

SonarHome is a team of over 20 individuals, including the development team consisting of web and ML developers. A true core of our cooperation is remote work, which allows us to build global relationships based on trust and flexibility. We're looking now for a new superpower to support our development team in Ruby on Rails competencies.

Our frontend technological stack is based on React, Next.js, Typescript, GraphQL and Tailwind CSS. The backend is developed in Ruby on Rails and Python. We use Kubernetes and CI/CD for deployment. We ensure high code quality through code review, formatters, linters and dependent bots. On a daily basis, we also use tools like ClickUp, Slack, GitHub or Metabase.

What makes you a good fit?

• You have at least 2 years of experience with Ruby on Rails,
• ​You're comfortable with English (spoken and written),
• ​You write clean code and care about details,
• ​You're familiar with good programming practices and design patterns,
• ​You're proactive,
• ​You value working in a small team, on a single product
• ​Nice to have: you're not intimidated by frontend code (React, TypeScript, GraphQL),
• Nice to have: you have some experience with Python.

What you will be responsible for?

You'll be developing and maintaining our Ruby on Rails apps (both internal and user-facing).

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Building new features,
• Conducting experiments, refactoring, upgrading and maintaining,
• working closely with our Product Team to help address business problems,
• fixing bugs and improving the product for our customers and partners.
