PROJECT BACKGROUND
- You will be working on a service supporting web application for our important client from Hong Kong and Seattle.
- You will join an experienced team of Ruby on Rails developers (5 years + of experience) who work on multiple services built for the client.
- Your service is already operational and used in production, however, it requires new API, to be built from scratch.
- It is possible that later on, you will cooperate with the team on other services, which run on Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, React, hosted on AWS using Docker.
- Our mutual work provides leading business risk and sustainability solutions. Through our services, we deliver tools which help organizations around the world to analyze and enhance the overall quality of their supply chain. In other words - our products help large companies improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of factory employees around the world.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ruby (ideal) or Python/PHP/JS or other interpreted language. You will be coding in Ruby, using Ruby on Rails framework but we expect that transition from Python/PHP/JS to be easy enough in this project. If you don’t know Ruby on Rails - we expect that you will quickly grasp it with the team’s help.
- Web applications knowledge - especially backend and API. Hopefully, you know how to create a CRUD app by yourself. Good patterns related to REST API will also be a big plus.
- Fundamentals of SQL. Knowing how to work with relational databases will be crucial in developing efficient API. We use PostgreSQL.
- English - level B2 or higher. You will be speaking with our remote clients from Hong Kong and Seattle on a daily basis - through emails, chat, and video conferences.
