Job description
The new security software product, SolarWinds Threat Monitor , is an automated tool that is designed to reduce the complexity of threat detection for IT operations teams as well as for MSPs and MSSPs (managed security service providers).
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us improve our products used by nearly 1 million end users. Our solutions are distributed systems hosted in AWS.
Responsibilities
What would you do?
- Lead efforts in automation, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and configuration management.
- Contribute to planning efforts, capacity expansion, and system upgrades both on-premise and into the hybrid cloud
- Support production servers and applications, troubleshoot alerts with Application and Performance monitoring tools
- Produce and maintain documentation on installations, incidents, and procedure requirements for systems
- Research new promising technologies, strategies, and ways to solve technical issues
Qualifications
What is required to succeed in this position:
- Deep understanding of version control systems (Perforce, Git, SVN…)
- Comfortable with variety of *NIX platforms
- Extensive history with Linux/Unix OS
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment/Automated testing implementations, using Jenkins, TeamCity, Travis CI or any other
- Familiarity with Automation tools, such as Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet
- Scripting experience (preferably Python)
- Experience with cloud-based deployment (AWS required)
- Oral and written English communication skills with high level of customer service
- Experience implementing DevOps practices
What are some desired (not required) skills?
- Experience managing significant load in the wild, comfortable with scale-out tiers, resiliency.
- Experience managing large AWS infrastructures.
- Knowledge of Metrics, Monitoring, Graphite, Logstash, SaltStack, Kafka
