About Project:
- The Project goal is to migrate and consolidate data held on numerous legacy systems onto the firm’s big data platform, which uses the Cloudera distribution of Hadoop. As part of the project, the team needs to ingest data from multiple data sources and streams: Mainframes, Teradata, Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, rest service, IMS, VSAM.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement applications and APIs for complex data analysis over large data sets
- Create and enhance data frameworks to manage data flows at high scale
- Constantly evaluate new technologies and provide knowledge sharing when necessary
- Apply bests practices, architectural patterns and tactics, data processing and modeling methodologies
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Scala
- Hands-on experience with Big Data stack (Hadoop ecosystem: Spark 2, Hive, Oozie) and/or willingness to learn and work with that technology stack
- Understanding of technologies related to source connectors (HTTP/REST, SQL)
- Knowledge of Bash and Ansible scripts will be a plus
