YOU ARE
Interested in using cutting-edge methodologies and platforms for connecting the physical and digital worlds, but also know the current core technologies that underpin existing systems. Through your experiences cooperating with software teams and technologies you have driven innovation in real-world solutions that live inside and outside the cloud. You ask the right questions, drive vision and purpose, and can manage ambiguity and complexity to get to the most appropriate solution. You collaborate across technical profiles and you work with business leaders to navigate success. You know that all decisions are trade-offs and enjoy finding the balance of constraints among competing interests. You also have solid managerial knowledge of conducting engagements and consulting services. You enjoy presenting workshops with prospects and customers but also like to keep your hands dirty with technical work. You care about personal development and enjoy mentoring others along their journey.
You possess
- Interest in the field of IoT and experience with some relevant technologies such as MQTT brokers, embedded programming, distributed systems, microservices architecture, infrastructure automation, edge processing, fleet observability, or wireless communications
- Expert knowledge of software and hardware lifecycles
- Expert insight of object-oriented software
- A proven track of leading or mentoring a technical team
- Ability to recognize architectural patterns and solutions associated with those patterns
- Professional certification from at least one cloud provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of tradeoffs between IoT offerings from the cloud and other IoT solution vendors
- SEI Software Architecture Professional, ATAM, or TOGAF
- Publication(s) in the field of IoT cloud or devices, formal or informal
- Bootloader and kernel-level knowledge of Linux OS for ARM and x86 Knowledge of hypervisors
- Practice with hardware root of trust and PKI
- Hands-on experience applying network theory and wireless communications
- Confidence in infrastructure automation tools
- The attitude of the one who has 'lived with' and managed a fleet of IoT devices
- Excellent communication skills
- Upper-intermediate English or higher

- Drive architectural service executions such as Discovery and Assessment
- Collaborate with business and non-technical stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements and communicate technical constraints and decisions to business
- Facilitate cooperation of all the stakeholders, define and prioritize architectural drivers for the solution
- Cooperate with other architects and technology experts to produce solid architectural decisions. Drive and coordinate technical staff discussions

- Translate customers’ business, functional, and non-functional requirements into high-quality solution architecture visions and operations plans consistent with enterprise architectural standards using Attribute Driven Design
- Define architecture strategies, standards, processes, technologies, and tools in architecture visions
- Drive or assist in solution implementation estimation and roadmap construction
- Analyze, model, document, and assess existing software architectures according to the Architecture Trade-off Analysis methodology
- Act as an expert and consult development teams on adherence to standards in solution design, development, and testing
- Clearly convey technical ideas to the development and operations teams
