Data Engineer with GCP

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join the dynamic team working for a renowned global fashion company based in Sweden on a major data transformation journey. This role is perfect for someone with a strong technical background, who is passionate about building and optimising data products within the Data Mesh concept. You'll be a key contributor to our AI, Analytics & Data department, helping to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of data-driven innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Build, optimise and support existing and new data products in line with our target vision.
• Promote a DevOps culture, managing CI/CD pipelines, Terraform and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
• Ensure that data products are independent units of delivery that meet standards for security, scalability, observability and performance.
• Work with the Product Owner and stakeholders to refine the vision for data products and identify new opportunities.
• Collaborate with teams across domains on Data Mesh related issues.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce technical debt.

We offer a choice of employment form: B2B or Employment Contract 

• B2B: 110 – 140 PLN net/hour + VAT
• UoP: 15 000 – 18 500 PLN gross/month

You might be the perfect match if you are/have:

• At least 4+ years of professional experience including hands-on as either: Data engineer on GCP/modern cloud data platforms and/or advanced analytics environments;
• Hands-on software engineering skills with CI/CD pipelines;
• Working knowledge of Terraform and DBT;
• Experience in GCP tools – Dataflow, Dataproc and Bigquery;
• Experience in different data formats such as Parquet, Avro;
• Experience in data query languages (SQL or similar);
• Experience in data centric programming using one of more programming languages Python, Java or Scala;
• Good understanding of different data modelling techniques and trade-off;
• Knowledge of NoSQL and RDBMS databases;
• Have a collaborative and co-creative mindset with excellent communication skills;
• Motivated to work in an environment that allows you to work and take decisions independently;
• Experience in working with data visualization tools;
• Fluency in English (C1) to work effectively in a multinational team;
• Location in Poland for easy signing of cooperation offers and occasional team meetings.

Moreover, we appreciate skills in these areas:

• data processing frameworks – Beam, Spark, Hive, Flink;
• Work experience with Azure;
• Business understanding of retail industry.
