Job description

We are looking for Java developer with ambitions to take on a leadership role in the team of developers who are working on the system for managing users and providing access to internal services.

About the product & the team

The product we are working on is an Access Management system for around 7000 users in Schibsted worldwide. The system is being rewritten in new technologies such as Java 8, Scala, Play, with the focus on performance and scalability. This is a small 2 people team so we are looking for a person with strong technical background who can take on both technical and people leadership role.

What you will do

  • You will be a part of Java enterprise team working on the internal product
  • You will spend 70% of time on development tasks and 30% of time on leading your team
  • You will have an active role in choosing the tech stack and making architecture decisions
  • You will be working closely with the PM and other colleagues in Stockholm 

What you should know

  • Good knowledge of a JVM language (Java 8 / Scala / other)
  • Practical knowledge of SQL and relational databases design principles
  • Strong Unix/Linux background
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms – mainly AWS suite
  • Excellent knowledge of REST architectural principles and web applications
  • Microservices architecture and SOA principles
  • Practical experience with continuous delivery and continuous integration
  • Good English – written and spoken
  • You are independent and able to lead the project through all the phases until the final delivery
