ABOUT THE PROJECT AND THE TEAM

With half a million daily viewers and 300 million play starts a year - VGTV is by far Norway's biggest web-tv channel. We cater for VGTV original shows, a library of 450 documentaries, premium sport live streams and 24/7 news and sports coverage.

The VGTV team is responsible for the video experience across all of VGs products and niche sites, which is visited by over 2.6 million users daily. Now we will take on the task to remake the VGTV.no destination and take the user experience to the next level which will be your first task as a developer in our team. Previous work with video or video platforms is no requirement, but passion for online video is definitely something we are looking for.

VGTV works in close collaboration with Stream which is Schibsted Media’s central platform for delivering video content, that covers all parts of video workflow within media house - from transcoding and ingesting live video through enhancing video metadata to playback and monetization.


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

In this role you will be working with Javascript (React), responsive web-design, RESTful and GraphQL microservices, SaSS, testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress), Git and Github.

We follow best practices like unit and end-to-end testing, use different continuous integration tools and utilize cloud platforms: AWS and Kubernetes.
