We are on the lookout for an Engineering Manager to lead our Privacy Services team at Schibsted Media.

This pivotal role is at the heart of our commitment to protecting user privacy and ensuring compliance with GDPR, e-privacy, and other privacy regulations. You will lead a dedicated team of 5 software engineers , overseeing the development and maintenance of critical privacy technologies that keep us at the forefront of data protection.

The Team owns the complete software development lifecycle of Privacy Services products, from design to deployment.


The tech stack includes but is not limited to:

  • Backend services: Java, Kotlin
  • User-facing components: TypeScript, ReactJS, Node.js
  • Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda, and many more), Docker, Kubernetes on EKS, IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Code management, CI/CD: GitHub, GitHub actions, Spinnaker, Travis (self-hosted enterprise instances)


🔷 ABOUT THE ROLE:


You will help build and manage a diverse team of software engineers with a well-established remote work culture, have the overall responsibility of the technical vision and roadmap, the quality of the product and the deliveries from the team. As the team and area is reforming and you will have a big impact on the future strategy of your team as well as influencing the overall strategy of the department. You will drive and re-assess the system architecture and spearhead the best practices that enable highly reliable products. ****

  • You have a track record of delivering successful products as a Manager , have a strong sense of ownership and take responsibility for the success of a team or teams.
  • You are able to keep a good balance of technical depth and interpersonal skills, and hold the ability to keep/have a broader view on how to strategically develop the solution to meet new business needs.
  • You have experience in partnering with product teams. You have strong leadership and facilitation skills , as well as the ability to balance engineering and product-related concerns.
