The Role:
Sauce Labs Engineering Organization is looking for a passionate seasoned leader that will drive further company growth, work on scaling the processes and build highly performant teams. In addition to managing a team, you will work strategically and cross-functionally to empower the broader organization to implement processes that will ultimately lead to faster delivery of a better product.
You will be directly responsible for making open-source products such as Appium and Selenium available in a massively scalable cloud. Our services enable users to test against these environments at extremely high levels of concurrency using any conceivable combination of operating system and browser, and provide the plasma for test data aggregation and analysis.
We expect you to leverage Agile methodologies, culture, tools, practices to the benefits of the organization. The ideal candidate has spent 3+ years managing teams of at least 6+ people, grooming talent into the best they can be, as well as prior experience cultivating a culture where everyone exhibits ownership behavior. These skills are paired with strong technical chops - backed by a track record of scaling complex, massively distributed, and highly available software services running in the cloud.

- Ensure high engineering productivity and achievement of business goals
- Help the team make the most effective decisions given time and business constraints
- Facilitate communication with other teams and product owners in the organization
- Identification of organizational gaps and active contribution to a new process creation
- Strive for constant improvement and contribute to the power of our agile development culture
- Attracting, hiring, and retaining top-notch engineering talent
- Representing your team to senior leadership and across other groups and teams within the company
Job Requirements:
- High level of technical competence
- 3+ years of experience in managing 6+ person teams
- A strong understanding of lean agile practices and how to apply them
- Experience breaking monolith into service architecture and scaling/modernizing platform
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working with multi-location and distributed workforces
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a multi-year hyper-growth environment and organization design
- Work in both high volatility (startup) and bigger organization environments
- Background in architecture and scaling of complex cloud SaaS / PaaS systems
- Experience managing OSS packages or products is a plus
- Experience building community and marketplaces is a plus
- Experience with CI/CD and test in particular is a plus
