Senior Java Developer / Technical Leader

Samsung R&D Institute Poland, is looking for experienced Technical Leader and Architect, for the team working on the development of business services based on Cloud architecture.

Our team is dedicated to help customers tackle global energy crisis, by providing innovative Building IoT solutions. We develop systems for more efficient and sustainable management of building infrastructure. It allows customers control various types of devices in commercial buildings (HVAC - Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning systems, automation devices, sensors, energy management etc.)

The team works on full process from business analysis through design of architecture, UX/UI and implementation of both backend and frontend - your role is to support them as a Technical Leader and a Solution Architect.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design, lead the development and maintenance of services and apps
• Close cooperation with HQ incl. active participation in calls (usually weekly) – you will be the 1st point of contact in technical matters
• Support Project Manager in technical aspects of the project
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of software engineering best practices
• Working on new features proposals

Technologies in use

• Java, Spring-Boot
• RDBMS, Messaging System, Cache System
• Azure (App Service, Virtual Machine, Networks)
• Git, Jira, Confluence

Skills and Qualifications

• 1-2 years as Technical Leader or Solution Architect
• 4 years in Java Spring or JEE backend development, 6 years in software development
• Good knowledge of UML
• Knowledge of SQL – good, and of NoSQL
• Practical experience in Azure or other Cloud Computing solutions
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in: preferably computer science, telecommunication, other STEM field
• Good English and Polish - communication level

Nice to have

• Knowledge of frontend technologies
• Practical experience in monitoring services and apps or in DevOps role
• Knowledge of IoT
