Company overview
Salvus Health is a digital health company on the mission to empower people to take control of their health by making medical innovations more accessible. One year since our incorporation, we have successfully validated a proof-of-concept and launched a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in the market. By January 2021, the solution has been installed in 25 community pharmacies in Belgium, our first paying customers, where our solution is live and where more than 1.000 users have successfully completed measurements.
The company is founded by experienced entrepreneurs - who among other things have started and scaled a company from inception to an exit - and it is supported by Blue Health Innovation Center, Startit @KBC, Barcelona Health Hub’s network and EIT Health.
We are currently looking to identify and recruit ‘up-and-coming’ talent eager to work and shape the future of preventive healthcare. The most exciting times are now starting!
Role overview
Our Salvus Care platform is carefully engineered to fulfil 3 user needs:
- Accessibility: Our native app connects to different medical devices that are constantly accessible at the pharmacy point. Users no longer need to buy devices themselves.
- Personal guidance: A web-application allows users to monitor their results at home and share important information with their care team.
- Security: The entire platform is managed from a secure cloud infrastructure.
All three pillars require further development to move from MVP to a world-class product.
The Technical Lead will play a key role in the transition from our MVP to a complete product, being responsible to build on the three key pillars. As a starting point, you will be working on our native Android app (installed on a tablet in the pharmacies), our mobile web app (from which users can follow-up their measurements, written in Angular) and the .NET core back-end. Ideally you know all three stacks, but you are at least proficient in one of them and are experienced with similar frameworks for the other two.
- You will advance the development of the current and future solution, making architectural choices and advice on which components to use, build or buy.
- You will manage our cloud infrastructure, implementing systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing.
- You will build and manage development and testing environments.
- You will ensure best coding practices and an agile development methodology are used throughout the company.
- You will be supported by external freelancers when necessary, which you will be responsible to manage.
Being a small team, you’ll be mainly in contact with non-technical team members. It is therefore important to speak their language and communicate clearly.
What is expected from you?
We are looking for an individual who thrives in fast-paced environments, who ideally has experience in building digital health products and wants to learn how to build a tech-team, but also bringing ideas and best practices with you.
- Experience: you have experience building a product from inception to launch and then scale (min. 4 years). You have experience with agile development and continuous development / integration methodologies.
- Technical: you possess strong technical skills, you can handle working with a wide variety of stack (.NET core, Android native, Angular, Azure or similar) and you go beyond mere implementation, thinking strategically and executing afterwards.
- Attitude: you are entrepreneurial and work independently.
- Mindset: you have a strong bias to action, but you also have an eye for detail and a relentless pursuit of perfection.
- Culture: you thrive in a culture of freedom and responsibility. You go the extra mile.
- Communication: you are an excellent communicator, also with non-technical people (English).
What you can expect from us?
We are building a complementary team of experienced professionals and young, talented individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, focused on problem solving and who share best practices from previous organizations and diverse backgrounds.
- Impact: unlock your potential and have a tangible and concrete impact on the development of our product, and more importantly, on people’s health and wellbeing. Build a tech-team that believes in these same ideals.
- Learning: become a key factor in our journey from MVP to complete product. Learn from experienced entrepreneurs who successfully scaled a tech company before.
- Culture: work in a fast-paced, collaborative and supportive environment. We strive for open communication and full transparency.
- Responsibility: participate in strategic decisions and create your own ideal workplace.
- Location: come to our vibrant office in the heart of Antwerp or work remotely.
- Compensation: a competitive salary and equity possibilities.
We are looking forward to getting to know you!
