You will be working as part of the Romex engineering team on a product used by thousands of companies worldwide. Who You Are
You are a software engineer with associated qualification and professional development experience and have spent time supporting existing systems and figuring out the root cause of bugs and defects.
You can triage and debug codebases, are well organised and like to work on Kanban workflows for tickets for supporting internal customers.

Responsibilities, key skills and experience
- Provide support to wider technical and business teams, manage queues and alerts, apply bug fixes etc.
- Strong investigation and problem solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of software and infrastructure problems.
- Attention to detail and can execute standard workflows while also adapting appropriately to business and process changes when necessary.
- Own the triage, troubleshooting and resolution of issues in priority order.
- Communicate clearly and regularly on tickets, Slack, email and meetings.
- Escalate issues to appropriate teams.
- Build strong FAQs and knowledge base articles to record issues and solutions into troubleshooting guides.
- Collate weekly metrics on issue status and report progress.
- Run weekly internal support meetings to update stakeholders on any critical issues.
- Be willing to work on an “on call” basis for afterhours critical support needs.
- Respecting and collaborating with co-workers on a day to day basis and asking and providing help where needed.
- Strive to build a solid understanding the architecture of the platform.
- Understand and adhere to the development and release process.
- Staying abreast of emerging technologies, trends, tools, frameworks, languages and services.
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills in fluent English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
- Think and empathise with our Customers.
Our environment:
We don't hire based on experience with a handful of tools. Instead, we want smart, capable, and experienced people who can learn our tools quickly (and suggest new ones where needed). Prior experience with our stack or similar is however is a bonus. Here's what we use:
- Backend is driven by .NET Core and employs state-of-the-art programming techniques like multi-threading, asynchronous programming, message driven architectures, distributed systems and microservices.
- Frontend is JavaScript using the latest version of Angular.
- Full cloud solution using latest AWS technologies.
- Event Sourcing and DDD.
- Git source control.
- Protractor and Cucumber testing frameworks.
- Working towards Continuous Integration with integrated testing pipeline to allow us to deploy to live, with confidence, multiple times a day.
- Although most of our core logic is written in C#, in Roomex.com we use the right tool for the job when it makes sense.
- We have lots of exciting challenges which need to be solved.
