Responsibilities

• You will design and write SQL queries to fetch, manipulate, and store data required by the APIs. This involves understanding the API requirements, crafting efficient SQL queries, and ensuring proper error handling.
• You will be responsible for creating stored procedures in PL/SQL to perform complex data operations efficiently. This includes optimizing the procedures for speed and resource usage, using indexing, and minimizing round trips to the database.
• You will participate in designing the database schema and creating Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts. This involves defining tables, relationships, constraints, and indexes to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• You work may need to work with batch processing tasks, which involve processing large volumes of data in scheduled batches. Additionally, familiarity with Linux environments is beneficial for tasks such as scripting, scheduling batch jobs, and managing server configurations.
• You will attend daily stand-up meetings to provide updates on their progress, discuss any obstacles or challenges faced, and coordinate with team members. Clear communication in English is essential to ensure everyone is aligned and aware of project status.
• You will utilize Liquibase for version control of database schema changes. This involves managing and applying database migrations in a controlled manner to maintain consistency across environments.

Qualifications

• A university degree in Computer Science or related field
• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and storage. Familiarity with advanced SQL concepts such as window functions, common table expressions, and query optimization techniques.
• Experience in developing performant stored procedures, functions, and triggers using PL/SQL for Oracle databases. Ability to optimize code for speed, resource usage, and scalability.
• Familiarity with Sybase's SQL dialect and stored procedure syntax to understand and analyze existing procedures. Experience in troubleshooting issues and integrating with Sybase-based systems.
• Proficiency in database design principles and experience in creating Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts for defining tables, relationships, constraints, and indexes. 
• Hands-on experience with batch processing tasks and familiarity with Linux environments for scripting and managing batch jobs. 
• Experience using version control systems like Git and proficiency in managing database schema changes with tools like Liquibase.
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
