About the Role:

Reporting to Mateusz Chrominski for Accounting (ACTP), SDE2 will work as a backend developer building and extending Qbert, accounting sub-ledger. This role is designed to support product expansions (new features) and develop accounting process automation for an already live system handling large datasets. As SDE2 they will help guide the technical direction of our backend services to ensure that we are moving quickly while adhering to engineering excellence. We are looking for a person with experience in Go (or interested in becoming one).

You Will:

• Implement new features and maintain existing systems,
• Write effective and efficient code,
• Partner and mentor other engineers, code reviews and provide feedback,
• Work closely with the Product Manager and business stakeholders,
• Write technical specification and participate in design reviews,
• Participate in scrum meetings, break requirements to stories, provide estimates,
• Assist the Accounting team in troubleshooting and providing tech guidance,
• Support the Accounting team during the month-end close through rotating on-call schedule.

You Have:

• ABS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of professional experience
• Proficient in a general purpose language like Go, Java, Kotlin, C#, bonus point for familiarity with Go
• Proficiency in an RDBMS like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server, bonus points for experience managing big data
• Proven experience and understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms
