WHY IS THIS JOB IMPORTANT?
Within this role, this individual will design, build & test solutions that support the business. The technologies we employ are C++, .Net, Elastic, Hadoop, HBase, Python, Java and AWS cloud technologies such as S3, EC2, ECS, Lambda & REST services across a range of back-end capabilities like workflow, streams (like SPARK), search (on Big Data & SQL clusters), distribution (via Kafka). Our organization & teams are global.
SOME OF DAILY TASKS YOU WILL PERFORM:
- Developing back-end components for a collections, distribution & search using mix of traditional & Big Data technologies.
- Developing components for the Cloud (AWS) using ECS, Lambda, REST APIs, ALB/ELBs, Code Pipelines, Code Deploy and other AWS technologies.
- Participating in process of designing ETL, data collections, distributions & Big Data solutions
- Writing well-designed and testable code
- Solving challenging problems
- Performing code reviews
- Learning new technologies rapidly
- Collaborating across multiple teams, between global regions, with mixed levels & capabilities of individuals & teams
- Adopting company processes for developing, testing, releasing software
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
- 1+ years of professional Java development
- Knowledge of design patterns, algorithms, component optimizations, threading, networking (protocols, etc.), debugging (stack traces, heap dumps)
- Communicative level of English
