CTO new startup

Red Sky is a #StartupStudio with +17 years of experience developing IT tech & products. We are a strategic partner of the Tar Heel Capital Pathfinder fund. We cooperate through a unique business model that combines the skills of a startup studio and a venture capital fund. We operate using the #VentureBuilding formula – based on the experience of experts, we create IT solutions and support promising startups.

Cooperation model

This unique venture-building model of cooperation ensures you a pivotal role in building a startup from the ground up and driving success. In this role, you will collaborate with the CEO to develop the company’s technology vision and strategy aligned with business goals. This executive position involves a blend of strategic planning, technological expertise, leadership, and innovation. This role offers a significant opportunity to shape a startup’s technology landscape, contribute to its strategic direction, and lead groundbreaking initiatives in the partner relations management domain.

Main responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure technology infrastructure.
• Identify and implement new technologies and innovations to drive competitive advantage and business growth.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing technology team.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and adaptability within the technology team.
• Oversee the selection and management of technology vendors and partners.
• Lead research in emerging technologies to identify opportunities for their application in the platform.
• Drive the development of innovative features and functionalities for the platform.
• Lead and manage technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Implement agile methodologies and project management tools to streamline development processes.
• Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Monitor technology spending to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Implement risk management strategies to safeguard technology assets and data.
• Communicate technology strategy and updates to stakeholders including investors, board members, and employees.
• Encourage a culture of innovation that embraces experimentation and learning from failures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in leadership role (as a CTO or VP of Engineering)
• Experience in building SaaS solutions.
• Expertise in software development, infrastructure management, and system architecture.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS platforms, technologies, and best practices.
• Experience in measuring/implementing measurement of system metrics.
• Ability to implement processes/monitoring related to Data Privacy and Data Security.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, startup mindset.
