Java Backend Developer (Data Modeling & Palantir)

About the Project

We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer with strong data modeling skills to support a key transformation initiative at an enterprise level. The goal is to replace a complex and incomplete legacy system with a modern, clean REST API layer that integrates with Palantir Foundry.

You will work at the intersection of telecom-standard data models (TMF) and platform-native object modeling (Palantir). Your primary responsibility will be to implement a data access layer that translates TMF-compliant requests into SDK-based interactions with Palantir, following established logical models and helping define their physical implementation.

This is an opportunity to shape the architecture before the first production release and work in a long-term platform modernization effort.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build REST APIs in Java that act as a bridge between an orchestration application and Palantir Foundry

• Translate TMF-based logical models into physical object structures within Palantir

• Collaborate with platform engineers and architects to define scalable data access layers

• Work with SDKs (not just REST APIs) to interact with Palantir's backend

• Ensure clean code practices and scalable design from the start

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Java backend development

• Proven experience in data modeling – logical and physical

• Familiarity with domain-driven design and telecom data models (e.g., TMF) or willingness to learn quickly

• Experience working with SDKs or platform-specific APIs

• Technical education (engineering degree or equivalent in IT, computer science, or related field)

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Palantir Foundry

• Understanding of TMF (TeleManagement Forum) specifications

• Experience with platform-based development environments (e.g., Salesforce, Mendix, OutSystems)

• Familiarity with API security (OAuth 2.0, tokens)
