The role
At Qurate Retail Group we are seeking a specialist to perform DB2 LUW Database Administration for our new Order Management System powered by IBM Sterling.  In this role, you will work in all environments (production and non-production) to provide database maintenance, support, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity planning within the team.  You will collaborate with development teams, supporting the application development lifecycle and/or the production support teams while ensuring system stability.

Your Impact
Main responsibilities will include:
  • Designing Infrastructure, building, testing, securing, and tuning highly available Db2 LUW 11.5 pure Scale database in Azure using automation
  • Implementing monitoring and alerting
  • Applying infrastructure changes to achieve optimum performance and availability
  • Resolving technical incidents, and providing root cause analysis
  • Following change and incident management processes
  • Creating and editing documentation, procedures, and architectural diagrams
  • Participating in projects, working with a project team and proactively communicate status to the project or delivery manage
  • Sharing knowledge and mentoring other Team Members

Qualifications
To be successful in this role we expect you to:
  • Hold a Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related field of study, or equivalent years’ experience.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment with mission critical production business systems
  • Experience working with tight project schedules
  • Experience with RedHat and Azure would be an asset
  • Knowledge of DB2 best practices
  • Written and verbal English communication skills are required (B2 or above)
  • Ability to work individually as well as within a team
  • As required, work any shift/extended shift, and participate in an on-call support rotation
  • 3+ years of experience in Db2 and other DBA related skills
