Job description
Exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate to become the JavaScript lead of a network of Alexa top-200 websites.
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of React, Vue, or other JavaScript technologies. The successful candidate will also have experience building a front end on top of an API and preferably experience with the WordPress API. The candidate should also have familiarity with frameworks like Gatsby or Gridsome. Comfort working with remote teams and getting requests/questions from different time zones is a must. Experience with ad tech is helpful, but not required.
The JavaScript Developer will be joining our dedicated Sites Development team. The role is based in Poland, working with and reporting directly to the Director of Product based out of our New York City office. The team uses the Kanban framework for its development process, tracks and discusses work through Slack, Jira, and Confluence, and practices Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment using CircleCI.
Role and Responsibilities
- Partner with the product manager to operate as the in-house JavaScript expert.
- Work in partnership with another developer and the product manager to
- Rebuild and launch a series of site layouts.
- Code and launch a series of A/B tests on those site layouts to help optimize metrics like revenue, stickiness, and load time.
- Make site updates, build new features, and fix bugs as needed.
- Perform code reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
- 4 or more years of experience in JavaScript.
- Proven track record of front end development.
- Deep knowledge of React, Vue, or other JavaScript technologies.
- Experience building a front end on top of an API, preferably the WordPress API.
- Familiarity with the concepts behind frameworks like Gatsby or Gridsome and the problems they’re trying to solve.
- Comfort working with remote teams and getting requests/questions from different time zones.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with a technical mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
