Job description

Testing Engineer Philips Lighting PIŁA/EINDHOVEN

You will be part of the Testing team and you will work closely with Industrial Project Leader, product hardware and software developers, and other experts. 

Your responsibilities:
Within New Product Introduction projects:
  • Acting as Guardian Angel ensuring “Design for testability” making sure we achieve optimum test coverage at 
  • Lowest integral cost for the product (supporting development who makes test requirements) 
  • Designing the industrial test process (taking into account transferability) and equipment based on test requirement received and consolidated with from development 
  • Preparing programming, functional testing and individualization process and organizing product specific sequence, specific jigs and fixtures factory for which test time is critical (eg 3 to 20 seconds per product)
  • Ensuring test process is robust (Cpk for each test step > 1.66 @ CR) and uptime of equipment is high.
As test engineering member of the NPI team:
  • Co-ordinating actions for preparation, realization and release for functional testing
  • Preparing required test infrastructure, including release of new tooling / software / equipment / process
  • Supporting execution and evaluation of ESR’S and capturing /deploying learnings / best practices debugs and releasing test process to ensure automatic testing is available prior trial run which is the last milestone before commercial release)
  • Ensures required test results / individual product birth certificates are logged and made available for cloud 
In relation towards own factories and Subcontractors:
  • Acting as a help chain for conceptual testing problems after project / transfer finish (support, problem solving, change management) and 3rd level maintenance responsible for support 
  • Although engineered will be stationed in Pila (s)he will spend ~ 50% of time in Netherlands and traveling to factories (also outside Europe) for training, debugging and release purposes

Required Profile/ Experience:
  • Test and measurement skills with evidence (s)he understands industrial test methodologies, design for manufacturing, design for test  
  • Experience with different testing/ programming ways of working in manufacturing environment: programmers, ICT testing, HALT/ HAS testing, functional testing, light measurement.
  • At least 3 years of experience in high volume electronics manufacturing industry (PCBAs) 
  • Experience with electrical schematics and boards design software (Eagle, Protel or similar)
  • Product knowledge of LED products: L2s, sensors and controls, their specific functionality and what is required for testing
  • Experience with microcontrollers, embedded SW and in circuit programming process (hardware, methods) , Proficient in with SW writing, (like C, C#, LabView, dotnet.), networks , and dBases, 
  • Experience with communication protocols used for lamp drivers (Dali, Zigbee, NFC, Blue tooth)
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electronics/Electrical Engineering 
  • Fluency in English
  • Team worker with basic project management skills
