Remote Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin/Java)

At OLX we enable our customers to buy and sell anything from homes to phones. The person we are looking to hire will help to revamp our current way of managing the core engine of our classified apps and websites: adding, publishing, and modifying ads on our platforms. 

Now we are looking for Senior Software Engineers to join one of the OLX teams.

As a Senior Software Engineer in our team, you'll be collaborating closely with colleague engineers and SREs, the product team, and an Engineering Manager while building one of the newest distributed systems we have in the company.

Our systems are built with Kotlin, Spring and/or Golang and they run on AWS.

We value engineers who have:

• Proven expertise: Professional experience in software development with Kotlin/Java or Golang and web application-related frameworks like Spring, Ktor, Http4k, Micronaut, or similar
• Architectural vision: Passion for architecting, building, and scaling cloud-based systems, serving millions of users
• Technical excellence: Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
• Cloud savviness: Experience in architecting Cloud Native solutions, AWS is a plus
• Product team experience: Worked in multi-functional international teams
• Ownership mentality: Believe in self-aligned teams and the "you build it, you run it" philosophy

What you will do:

• Lead projects: Drive technical contributions and lead the planning, execution, and success of complex projects
• Collaborate: Be part of a team and establish credibility with the quality of your own and your team’s technical execution
• Innovate: Encourage the team to innovate, invent, implement, and deploy complex software solutions
• Own it: Ask questions, brainstorm, and own the product we are building
• Align with product: Work closely with the product management team to ensure we’re building the best products for our users

What you can expect from the recruitment process:

• The first step is a meeting with our Tech Recruiter: we are excited to get to know you and tell you more about OLX and the role
• Next, you'll meet one of our Engineering Managers
• Following that, there will be a technical check consisting of live coding tasks and System Design sessions
• Finally, we will provide feedback and, hopefully, extend an offer
