Engineering Manager - Ranking & Recommentations

What you will be doing:

• Lead a team of software engineers, and contribute to scaling our platform to the next level of modularity & shareability while working on architecture, tools, standards, and practices for the engineering European organization
• Lead by example, care for your team, and establish credibility with the quality of your own and your team's technical execution
• Encourage the team to innovate, invent, implement and deploy complex software solutions
• Onboarding, mentoring, coaching, feedback, and career development of the engineering team
• Ensure that the team is delivering with repeatable quality and predictability
• Work closely with the product management team to align technology solutions with the product vision
• Work closely with the Product Management, Data Science, Machine Learning and Analytics teams to align the best technology solutions with the product vision

• Worked well in multi-functional teams
• Knowledge of people management topics focused on developing and growing people. Not just on putting people on the path, but dealing with all sorts of situations
• Passion and hands-on experience in architecting, building, and scaling cloud-based systems, serving millions of users
• Strong software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages
• Passion and hands-on experience in architecting, building, and scaling cloud-based search, recommendations or ranking systems, serving millions of users.
• The ideal candidate will have previous experience building world class search / ranking experiences and AI/ML products and models, knowledge in Solr, Elasticsearch, Vespa or other Search solutions will be considered a bonus
