Job description

We are seeking a talented cloud engineer to help us adopt Azure and build our environment from the ground up. The person we are looking for is passionate about building modern and secure cloud-based implementations that can scale. As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with our Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to build, maintain, and monitor our production systems in Azure.

In this role, you:

Will lay the foundation of our Azure implementation and ensure it is secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable by using recommended best practices
Configure and use monitoring to understand system health and guide decision making
Monitor costs to ensure usage is within budget
Prevent recurrence of past problems by participating in blame-free retrospectives with engineers to determine the root cause and a resolution plan
Will build a Disaster Recovery system to guarantee data durability and recoverability
Keep your skills sharp by staying on top of industry trends and sharing relevant findings with the broader team

To be successful, you:

Have a proven track record of operating a SaaS product in Azure
A very strong background in Azure
Experience with Kubernetes is preferred
Are calm under pressure
Have an intrinsic curiosity and desire to always learn more
Are able to prioritize and deliver timely work in a fast-paced environment
