The team you’ll be part of
Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobile networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).
As 5G Call handling & Mobility System Specification Engineer, you are responsible for the concept definition and the specification of requirements for 5G Call handling & mobility area covering the sygnaling aspects related to 5G RAN technology. The responsibility also includes the feature-level definition and handling of specification activities as well as support in R&D/test activities.

What you will learn and contribute to
The 5G Call handling & mobility System Specification Engineer for 5G Radio Network is responsible for the following tasks:
  • Analysis of feature requests and feature user scenarios/stories
  • Driving pre-study and feasibility studies to investigate solution feasibility for complex features
  • Specification of system-level C-Plane requirements
  • Collaboration and coordination with stakeholders (ex. Product Management, R&D, Test teams, Customer support, etc) to discuss technical solutions to customer requirements
  • Contribution to the definition of new sygnaling concepts, solutions and improvements
  • Support R&D and Test team activities to ensure specified requirements are implemented and tested
  • Drive and support maintenance and quality-related activities for owned features
  • Support customer discussions/workshops, including document preparation and analysis
 
Your skills and experience
You have:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or Software Technology or equivalent education
  • 3+ years experience in mobile network product development (R&D or Specification), test or network engineering
  • Strong knowledge about mobile network technologies (5G, 4G, SRAN)
  • Knowledge about sygnaling and message exchange concepts
  • Good Presentation and communication skills
  • Background in agile development is a plus
  • Language: Fluent written and spoken English
  • Good interpersonal skills and capability to work seamlessly in a multi-site environment
  • Responsible and committed, Analytical, Result-oriented
  • Quality-oriented character
