The Project:

Since 2002, the client has been a market leader in automotive claims management, processing over 18 million vehicle claims annually with a global team of more than 1,000 employees. Operating in over 30 countries, the company specializes in digital solutions that optimize vehicle damage processing for insurance companies, car dealerships, repair shops, leasing firms, and automotive manufacturers. By leveraging automation, advanced technologies, and industry expertise, the client continuously enhances efficiency and accuracy in claims handling. An in-house research and development team drives innovation, tailoring solutions to local market needs while advancing digital transformation in the industry. At the core of this evolution is a strong development team, building scalable, high-performance software solutions that integrate data-driven processes with human expertise to reshape automotive claims management.

Your Role

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you will be part of agile team building modern single-page web applications using React and TypeScript. Your role involves implementing new features, improving existing functionality, and ensuring high code quality through unit and end-to-end testing. You will collaborate closely with teammates in an agile environment (Scrum or Kanban), participate in sprint ceremonies, and follow clean code and test-driven development principles. Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Redux, and Git is essential, and experience with CI/CD and open source projects is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• You will be an integral part of a small, agile development team (Scrum or Kanban) involved in creating modern web applications.
• Regular communication through stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews helps efficiently achieve sprint goals.
• Using React and TypeScript, you will build engaging and high-performance frontends.
• Collaborating with the team, you will plan and implement new features as well as enhance existing web apps.
• By employing unit tests (e.g., with Jest) and E2E tests (e.g., with Cypress or Selenium), you ensure the quality and stability of your code.

• Languages & Frameworks: ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript and Redux, HTML and CSS 
• Testing: Jest (unit testing), Cypress, Selenium (E2E testing), Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• CI/CD: Git, GitLab
• Storage: SQL Server, AWS S3, MongoDB.
• Cloud & Hosting: On-premise with strategic migration to AWS or Azure, VMware Tanzu for hybrid environments.
• Collaboration & Communication: Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning), Code Reviews, Open Source contributions

What We Expect from You

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or relevant experience)
• Extensive experience developing modern single-page applications, with strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and Redux
• Proficient in modern HTML and CSS technologies, familiar with clean code principles, test-driven development, and common design patterns
• Being comfortable with version control systems (e.g., Git, ideally with GitLab) is part of your daily routine
• Practical experience with continuous integration/deployment and collaborative work in open source projects
• To work independently, enjoy contributing to agile processes, and have a keen interest in continuous professional development
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. German knowledge will be a plus
