Department Overview

Our teams develop mission critical software for handling emergency (911, 112) calls. This software connects our on-premise call handling solution with our leading edge CommandCentral call handling cloud product. The teams are responsible for end-to-end software development including: design, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance. We work in co-located, well balanced scrum teams with a full range of software development experience. We embrace the DevOps culture and Continuous Delivery approach. Tests are automated on multiple levels (UT, box, performance and end-to-end).

Job Description

As a Software Engineer on the call handling team in Krakow, you will help us to build new features and enhance our existing software, tools, and help us delight our customers by extending our application capabilities and enhancing the existing technologies we use. You will help design and build new APIs, web services, and microservices while supporting the operations of our cloud-based solution.

Back-end: Kubernetes/Docker, Java 17, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Quarkus, GitHub, Azure DevOps, ELK Stack + Prometheus/Grafana, Redis, MongoDB, Azure & AWS clouds, SIP/RTP , Gstreamer, RUST, Postgresql, Redis.

Front-end: Angular15, TypeScript, JavaScript, Cypress

Basic Requirements

What we are expecting from you:

• At least 5 years of experience with Java technologies
• Practical knowledge of microservices and REST API
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related fields
• English language skills allowing for efficient communication with our peers and customers in North America
• Ability to lead technical initiatives or features requiring excellent communication and organization between all parties involved.
• Focus not only on daily activities but ability to look beyond helping to organize work and planning for the team.
• Engagement in complex tasks and defining, and maintaining architecture for the team.
• Ability to work without supervision from other members of the team.
• Ability to make a strong impact on the team as a technical leader, as well as impact on the product and processes beyond the immediate team.

Must have:

• Java (Spring), REST
• Kubernetes/Docker or alternatives
• Experience in distributed systems (e.g. Microservices architecture or multiple client-server topology or similar) and hands-on experience with the following aspects
• CI\CD in such systems
• Automated testing
• Observability and monitoring

Nice to have:

• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure
• RabbitMQ/AMQ experience
• SIP, RTP experience
• GStreamer experience
• Networking knowledge
