Lead DevOps / Platform Software Engineer

We are currently looking to extend our team dedicated to creating and maintaining seamless, scalable, and resilient mission-critical emergency call handling NG911 systems that empower innovation and drive business success. Our team's mission is to revolutionize the way software applications are deployed and managed by building a state-of-the-art, highly available platform leveraging cutting-edge virtualization, orchestration, and automation technologies. 

We are looking at different types of individuals. If you have experience as a Platform Architect, Automation Engineer, Kubernetes Specialist, Elastic Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, and Network Security Engineer and you feel like creating technology that serves as a lifeline for first responders is a noble and vital endeavor, you are ready to answer the call.

Technical skills - must have

• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e,g PROXMOX,  VMware ESXi, KVM).
• Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g.Bash, Python, Ruby).
• Familiarity with automation of infrastructure and application deployments (e.g.Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of networking concepts and principles and security best practices 

Soft skills:

• Ability to define and guide the overall mission, goals, and roadmap of the platform team.
• Problem-solving and Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills to resolve complex technical and organizational challenges efficiently.
• Excellent ability to articulate technical concepts, manage stakeholder expectations, and align team efforts with organizational priorities.
• Drive for implementing best practices, encouraging innovation, and improving processes and technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Open to learning new technologies and adapting to changing requirements.

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in leadership position roles
• 8+ years of experience in a Platform Architect, Senior DevOps, System Architect or related roles
• Experience managing resources and timelines to ensure successful delivery of platform initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with the technologies mentioned above.
• Experience with large enterprise IT systems 
• Experience with highly available, zero-downtime platforms
• Proven experience in ‘automate everything’ organizations
