Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to assist with the design and implementation of a robust and secure Wide Area Network for the next generation of 911 and public safety solutions hosted in the cloud. The person in that role will participate in the designs and implementation related to various aspects of the WAN architecture including Verizon and AT&T MPLS & ancillary services, AWS Networking, Azure Networking, VMware (VeloCloud) SDWAN, Fortinet firewalls, IPsec, BGP, DNS, PKI, and Terraform - cloud networking deployment automation. Team Description
You are joining an engineering team (development) that has been working on cloud based, public safety solutions for years. The lead network architect and the solution architect are based in the US, the development team is in Krakow.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the design and deployment of an extremely redundant, resilient, and secure wide area network that will provide standardized ingress and egress for partners and customers accessing Azure and AWS cloud-hosted NG911 solutions
- Work with the design and implementation of cloud network, DNS, PKI, and Solution Monitoring
- Troubleshooting WAN issues
- Assist with ongoing wide area network capacity planning, security compliance, performance optimization, and solution future-proofing
- Automation of AWS and Azure networking using Terraform
- AWS and Azure networking backup and DR plans
What we are expecting from you:
- Cisco CCIE Certification (Lab Certified) is a major advantage.
- Extensive Wide Area Networking knowledge and experience with eBGP (Configuration / Troubleshooting / VRFs / Communities / Route-Maps), Site-to-Site IPsec (Configuration / Troubleshooting), and SDWAN are key
- Knowledge or experience configuring and administering firewalls (FortiGate), DNS, PKI, 4G/5G WAN (via CradlePoint), ESXi, Azure vWAN, AWS CloudWAN, and Terraform are beneficial.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, OEM best practices, and industry best practices relevant to the NG911 WAN architecture.
- Strong detailed diagram & documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Note: While prior experience with Cloud Networking is not mandatory, a strong foundation in Wide Area Networking and related technologies is required. The necessary Cloud Networking skills can be acquired and developed on the job. The same applies to Terraform.
- Full technology stack: BGP Routing, Fortigate firewalls (Policy, Routing, IPsec), AWS Networking (Direct Connect, Transit GW, Cloud WAN), Azure Networking (ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, Managed NVA), AT&T (MPLS, NetBond, TAO, NBFW, 4G/5G), Verizon (MPLS, SCI, NBFW, 4G/5G), VMware SDWAN (Overlay, Physical Edges, Virtual Edges), DNS Resolution, PKI / mTLS.
