Job description
Kubernetes is one of the top open source cluster manager started by Google, providing effective resource isolation and sharing across distributed applications.Mirantis plans on taking our proven community and engineering strategy used in OpenStack and applying it towards the Kubernetes community.
Our engineering team works on the architecture and implementation of a cloud solution using best approaches and possibilities provided by OpenStack, Kubernetes and other thriving innovative technologies. We want you to bring your best ideas of what a unified bare metal, VM, and container platform should look like and implement it together with us and the open source communities.
What you will do:
- you will participate in building and design Mirantis branded release of Kubernetes which is based on upstream Kubernetes
- you will cooperate with Kubernetes community and work on upstream features relevant to Mirantis
- you will cooperate with other departments at Mirantis who use Kubernetes as a platform for their solutions (Services, MCP etc.)
- you will work on Mirantis opensource projects based on Kubernetes (Virtlet etc.)
- you will have a possibility to represent Mirantis on Kubernetes conferences
- you will work with Mirantis key stakeholders/customers to understand their expectations around Kubernetes and make sure they are implemented in a correct way in Mirantis K8S product
- you will contribute to Kubernetes upstream and downstream (Mirantis) repositories
Your profile:
- general proficiency in programming
- knowledge and interest in learning Golang
- at least basic knowledge and understanding of Kubernetes, containers, microservices
- good communication skills in English
- good interpersonal skills (inc. remote work)
- knowledge how to work with open source projects
