We are looking for enthusiastic Operations Engineer / Cloud Ops Engineer, who will be extending OpenStack to support enterprise-grade private IaaS platforms for company’s customers. We need talented engineers, who are willing to work on intersection of IT and software engineering, be passionate about open-source and not afraid of maintaining huge codebase, written by best developers in the area.
What you will do:
- Proactively troubleshoot private cloud deployments based on OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other cloud technologies, detect and report issues
- Reproduce customer issues in the internal lab, confirm bug reports, provide detailed information to the development team
- Work closely w/ development team: discuss customer issues, suggest improvements, fix product bugs, etc.
- Provide engineering support for product issues escalated by the L1 support team. Help L1 support team deal w/ critical customer issues, participate in troubleshooting sessions over Webex as needed
Your profile:
- Exxcellent Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Ability to read and understand Python, Ruby code; good Shell scripting skills
- Good knowledge of virtualization solutions (libvirt, KVM, VMWare)
- Good knowledge of network and distributed storage solutions (iSCSl, Ceph)
Nice to have:
- Experience of working with and maintaining large Python codebases.
- Experience working with virtualization solutions (KVM, XEN).
- Understanding of NAS/SAN.
- Awareness of distributed file systems (Gluster, Ceph).
- Experience with configuring and extending monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia, Zabbix).
- Experience working with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Cobbler).
- Experience of deploying and extending of OpenStack is a plus.
- Fluent English language
