About Our Client
For our Client which is a leading global financial services partner we are looking for a Systems Engineer who will bring his skills to third line systems resolver team within IT Operations. As part of IT Operations you will be involved in the day to day running alongside technical project involvement.
Job Description
- Management and monitoring of the global Cloud, Server, management of patching across the environment estate - internally and via third parties. Taking ownership of services within the systems support function, and ensuring the stability and availability these providing to the business.
- Management, maintenance and support of IT Systems in a Microsoft client/server environment
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, resolving of operational incidents.
- Assisting all teams within IT Services with any technical advice required
- To ensure that all products remain under support ("evergreen"). This includes the planning, validation, testing, documentation and deployment of updates and upgrade releases
- Reviewing and troubleshooting technical problem areas to improve security, service and provide continuous service improvement
- Providing technical support to projects, and transitioning services into production with full handover to internal BAU or external supplier
- Ensuring the server, desktop and laptop estate is patched, updated, and backed up as required. Including ensuring security and anti-malware systems are up to date.
- Following all governance processes, which will include standards, policies and designs being approved at the Technical Design Authority; and changes being implemented in a controlled scheduled manner after approval from the Change Advisory Board.
- Adherence to all agreed standards, principles, procedures, and security policies
- Operation of reporting tools to identify potential bottlenecks and for diagnostic and audit purposes
The Successful Applicant
- At least 2 years of experience in working within an IT Systems Engineer role.
- MCSA Qualification
- Server support experience
- Azure and Office 365 experience
- Active Directory / Domain services
- DHCP
- DNS
- Exchange / Messaging
- Monitoring systems for example SolarWind
- Hyper V and Windows failover
- WSUS and Patching
- Multilanguage integration
- Experience of supporting SME of similar scale (1200 0365 environment, 250 to 500 servers/platforms)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics ability
- Experience working with third party suppliers
- Customer focused approach
- Logical analytical thinking
- Excellent communication and organisational skills. Good time keeping
- Fluent English skills (B2 level)
