Skills we’re looking for:
- System administration and command-line skills (Linux, Bash, daemons...)
- System and network security skills (permissions, encryption, firewalls...)
- PostgreSQL & Redis data health maintenance and monitoring skills
- PostgreSQL scalability, data replication and backup skills and experience
- RabbitMQ and Redis real-time messaging health maintenance and monitoring skills
- GitHub-based automated CI, review app and production deployment flow setup and maintenance skills
- Docker containerization in development, CI and production backed with registry & caching
- Docker and non-Docker orchestration skills using tools like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm or similar
- Experience with cloud hosting platforms - mainly Amazon and Google, also Heroku
- Ruby on Rails and Node web application hosting and routing experience
- Dynamic DNS, dynamic routing and anti-DDoS solution experience
- Amazon S3 cloud storage configuration, permission control and maintenance experience
- Ability to put all the above pieces together from scratch into automated, scalable setup
Our technology stack
- Recent versions of Elixir & Phoenix, Ruby & Ruby on Rails and ES6
- 9 micro-services and growing + internal apps supporting our development process
- PostgreSQL as primary database
- RabbitMQ as message queue
- Data querying and caching with Redis
- Growing amount of ES6 code using React and flux architecture
- System flow highly based on AJAX & JSON APIs and RPCs with Protobufs
- Use of external APIs including AWS, Twilio, Mandrill, Heroku
- Custom tooling for deployment, monitoring and reports
- Close to 4.0 code quality score on CodeClimate and top Apdex in New Relic
