Node.js Engineering Manager
What you'll do:
Your day-to-day tasks will include the responsibilities of Senior Node.js Developer (which will take proximity 75% of your working time) and Engineering Manager. As a Node.js Developer you’ll work on designing and implementing backend business logic and exposing it through REST API. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for the overall project structure/architecture and its new features. You will also have an opportunity to integrate it with such frontend frameworks as React or Angular. As Engineering Manager, you will guide a team of up to 6 Node.js Developers and help them grow by setting personal & technical goals and assisting in achieving them. You will also conduct technical interviews, technically onboard green hands in your team, and conduct evaluation of your charges.
Who you are:
- you have at least 4-5 years of commercial experience in Node.js development
- you have a great understanding of JavaScript and Node.js
- you have experience with at least one Nodejs frameworks (Express, Nest, Hapi)
- you have experience in working with and designing REST APIs
- you have the ability to design schemas with at least one databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL)
- you have basic DevOps knowledge: Docker, AWS, Google Cloud
- you have experience in mentoring or teaching other people
- you have the ambition to develop both your programming and management skills
- you have an eagerness to take the role of the lead project developer
- you have excellent English skills both spoken and written.
What we'd like to see:
- you have experience as an Engineering Manager or Team Leader
- you have a history of giving meaningful feedback and experience in code review
- you conducted technical interviews during the recruitment process
- you conducted evaluation meetings
- familiarity of at least one JS framework (React, Angular, Vue)
- ability to write unit tests (Karma/Jasmine, Jest).
