Job description

Online interview

We are looking for a person to join a small team creating a system that processes statistical data from social media platforms. The project is not a typical Rails application - we are looking for an ambitious person who is not afraid to work on something that is not an ordinary CRUD. We process gigabytes of data every day and perform aggregations and analyses. You’ll be responsible for building new features, maintaining existing codebase, and developing scalable solutions to support even more data.

About

Measure Studio is a US-based company. We build a social media analytics tool that benchmarks content performance across many platforms.

Our offer

  • Salary 5.5k - 7.5k $ (B2B) dependent on your skills and experience. In special cases, we are willing to increase the higher bracket.
  • A very professional approach to software development (gitflow, code review, CI, CD)
  • Work fully remotely
  • A nice and friendly work atmosphere focused on mutual help
  • Paid 26 vacation days
  • Clearly defined career path with semi-annual progress evaluations and setting goals for the future
  • Monthly workshops - a day for personal development with various technologies, not necessarily related to daily work and projects
  • Conference/training budget
  • Flexible working hours

Technology

  • Ruby + Sinatra (API only), RSpec
  • MySQL, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
  • AWS services, such as S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/ECR

A perfect candidate should have

  • Very good knowledge of Ruby and related tools (rspec/minitest, git, CI/CD, etc.),
  • Very good knowledge of database-related issues. Ability to pick the best and most optimal solutions for specific problems. Is not afraid to work in plain SQL,
  • Proven track record of external API-focused work,
  • The ability to work a problem from description to solution, bringing own expertise and excellence to the table,
  • Resilience to a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment,
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with AWS cloud (or Azure/Google Cloud etc.), especially with following services or equivalents: ECR, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3
  • Experience with social media APIs and concepts
  • Understanding of event-driven architecture concepts
  • Experience in building ETL systems (extract, transform, load)
  • DevOps skills
  • Experience with Timescale DB or similar
