We are looking for Network Project Engineer!
Location (Country): Poland, Poznań
Team: Hosting Planning and Engineering are responsible for maintaining the Network Infrastructure across Lumen global Data Centers.
Purpose of Position:
This Network Project Engineer will be a member of the Lumen Hosting Planning and Engineering team, responsible for maintaining the network Infrastructure across Lumen global Data Centers. Specifically, the planning, release and execution of all proactive network changes that are problem, capacity or project initiated to ensure Lumen Data Centers offer the highest levels of performance and availability of services.
Responsibilities include project planning new installs, upgrades and routine maintenance, change readiness assessment, developing and validating new standards, documentation, training, technical support, troubleshooting and problem management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Planning and scheduling maintenance activities related to Revenue-Growth, Infrastructure Augments or Software Upgrade Rollouts.
- Lead special projects to complete integrations and achieve cost savings.
- Ownership of problem records that have an infrastructure wide impact.
- Drives standards and ensures a consistent support from the global team.
- Maintains collaborative relationships with key departments across the company.
- Provide consulting services to our customers and other internal teams when support is needed around the Data Center Hosting Network.
- Ensure successful execution of change management activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a network engineer looking after enterprise (high availability) network solutions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant Vendor Certifications (e.g. Cisco CCNA, CCNP)
- Experience with Network Switches, Routers, with a strong understanding of internetworking technologies such as STP, ISIS, BGP and OSPF.
- Ability to build good relationships with our clients, your peers, managers and other Lumen teams through appropriate communication and team working.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, written, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills, with demonstrated ability to determine root cause to performance shortfalls and implement corrective actions.
- Experience working within Global teams.
- Ability to develop and motivate others to do what it takes to get the right things done, set an example by embodying Lumen’s unifying principles.
- Good working knowledge of ITIL best practices.
Preferred Requirements
- Cisco ASA / Firepower firewalls, Palo Alto, Checkpoint and/or any other firewall platforms
- Enterprise & Core Routing and Switching Experience, Juniper or Cisco.
- A10 & F5 Load Balancer experience
- Python and/or Perl scripting an advantage.
- Cisco ACI experience.
- Knowledge of Lumen offerings, products and services an advantage.
- Knowledge of LEAN principles & methodology.
