    UAT Test Analyst, Market Operations

    Strong Test Analyst is required to support User Acceptance Testing for a project within LSEG, Market Operations


    Role summary

    The User Acceptance Test Analyst is responsible for performing full range of activities to support the business acceptance testing, supporting business users, following project objectives and timelines, implementing all testing deliverables being test plan, test scripts, test reports, etc. The role will also include the development of UAT testing framework, improvement of UAT processes and the development and maintenance of the testing library. Building automation and processes would be beneficial. The role requires strong financial industry background.

    Department Description

    Market Operations have a range of responsibilities across LSE, Turquoise and FX, including technical account management, support desks and market operations.


    The Market Operations Services team are based in London, providing the centralised function for the maintenance of key trading services and reference data databases. The London team spans the LSE (Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives) and Turquoise venues (part of the London Stock Exchange Group) as well as FX (FXall and Matching platforms) acting as a first point of conta ct for customers (both issuers and member firms). The teams co-ordinate the production and dissemination of communications to customers (e.g. Issuers) and key organisations including EUI, CCPs, UKLA and FTSE Russell. Market Operations Services comprises of six key functions – Admissions, Market Management, Equity Operations, Operational Support, UAT and Regulatory Operations, and manages close operational relationships, internally and externally.


    Team description

    The UAT team are part of Market Operations Services, and this role will report to UAT Assistant Manager – accountable for UAT across all teams and systems within Market Operations Services’ remit and responsibility. The team is responsible for delivering user acceptance testing for designated platforms on behalf of all the other Market Operations Services Teams.


    What you'll be doing

    • Gather testing requirements by evaluating the product require ment specifications and raise clarifications with product owners, business analysts, business users, and other project team representatives
    • Develop, execute and maintain test scripts/cases and supporting analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements
    • Maintain a full, accurate and up-to-date documentation
    • Build trusting relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with the team
    • Communicate clearly with team and keeps clear lines of communication open to ensure full understanding of tasks, asking questions where needed.
    • Identify, log and analyse software defects. Manage bug reports and ensure their resolution, working closely with Dev, QA teams, and other project representatives
    • Deliver consistent and high quality testing services to support the business and other stakeholders
    • Support business and stakeholders providing necessary overview of the items going live an d their status


    You'll bring

    • Understanding of software quality assurance processes and methodologies and software development life cycle and the position of UAT in it
    • Strong problem solving and good analytical skills (defect analysis and reporting)
    • Confidence, good interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
    • Ability to raise and communicate issues and risks
    • Ability to correctly identify audience for project communication
    • Attention to detail and ability to see and correct mistakes and have a growth mindset
    • Critical thinking and ability to follow or suggest the right approach to testing activities
    • Understanding of Trading Systems would be advantageous
    • Understanding of test automation beneficial
