Senior System Engineer (Remote, EU-based)

Join our agile Computational Scientific Platforms team as a Senior System Engineer, where you’ll support cutting-edge data science and research platforms used by some of the brightest minds in science and tech.

We’re a cross-functional team of 9 people (including a Product Owner, Scrum Master, and developers) working together to provide robust infrastructure — both on-prem and in the cloud (AWS) — for our internal customers: data engineers, scientists, and researchers. This role is fully remote (EU-based), with 1–2 days per quarter onsite in Denmark for PI planning.

🚀 What You’ll Do

• Collaborate closely with scientists, data engineers, and vendors to deliver tailored infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical support and proactively improve systems used by advanced users.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and container-based environments.
• Contribute to the team’s DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.
• Occasionally take part in on-call duties (flexible hours) to support users across China, the US, and Europe.
• Engage in upskilling and development programs — we invest in your long-term growth.

We’re looking for someone with strong DevOps and Linux fundamentals who thrives in a collaborative environment.

✅ Core Skills (Priority Order):

• Linux / Bash scripting
• DevOps & CI/CD best practices
• Python (strong development skills)
• Git, GitHub
• Containerization: Docker, Podman or OCI
• JupyterHub, JupyterLab & Notebook environments
• Authentication protocols: Active Directory (AD), SSO, Kerberos, OAuth
• PowerShell (nice to have)

🧠 Bonus if you have:

• Experience with data science platforms
• Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Puppet or Terraform
• Prior work in research or high-performance computing environments
