Job description
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled Manager - Platform Architect GCP who will play a critical role in guiding the design, implementation, and optimization of our platform on Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with GCP services, strong leadership abilities, and a proven history of successfully leading platform engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design:
- Develop and maintain architectural blueprints for development on GCP
- Introduce new services and tools to the GCP platform
- Provide guidance on best practices, technical standards, and professional development for the team
- Review designs and architectures from product teams to ensure compliance with design blueprints
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs
GCP Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of GCP infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools for efficient and automated deployment processes
Platform Optimization:
- Implement and optimize platform engineering processes to enhance scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency on GCP
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues
Security and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the security team to implement and enforce security measures within GCP environments
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies related to GCP platform services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus
- Proven experience (7+ years) in a lead role overseeing platform engineering on Google Cloud Platform
- In-depth knowledge of GCP services and infrastructure components
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, and GCP security best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
