The Database Administrator will take full ownership and responsibility for maintaining, designing, testing, and monitoring performance for systems/platforms that store organisation wide data whilst ensuring a safe, accessible, and easy to comprehend user experience.
Qualifications:
- More than 5 years of experience working in various database environments.
- Involvement in cloud/on-prem database implementations and configurations (PostgreSQL and MongoDB).
- Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible
- Experience using middleware and APIs (REST, ODBC, JDBC, etc.)
- Preferred experience in banking
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation, maintenance, optimisation and management of database structures for the Bank, in particular MongoDB, PostgreSQL, database programs.
- Monitor end to end performance and manage parameters.
- Lead incident management, troubleshooting and resolution of various requests.
- Promote and maintain data standards.
- Drive configuration, upgrade, and day to day database operations across development, testing and production environments.
- Lead on root cause analysis to identify challenges, points of contention and performance improvement measures.
- Map out conceptual designs for planned databases.
