Senior Production Support Engineer – Global Payments Systems

Kraków-based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days in the office, 3 days remote).

As a Senior Production Support Engineer – Global Payments Systems, you will be working for our client, a leader in wholesale IT solutions within the financial industry. You’ll support complex global payment platforms, ensuring system availability, stability, and performance in a high-stakes environment. Your main responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive day-to-day production support, including incident resolution and problem management activities.
• Diagnose and identify root causes of major system issues swiftly and effectively.
• Install and configure new software releases provided by vendors.
• Develop and implement local solutions using scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Python, or Java.
• Support testing activities for new implementations, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Collaborate closely with global stakeholders to coordinate support and improvements.
• Review, design, and optimize processes using innovative technologies to enhance performance.
• Drive the design and implementation of service enhancements and process improvements.
• Analyze system architecture and perform data analysis to support root cause investigations.
• Lead or support initiatives targeted at improving service delivery and technological capabilities.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production or application support within high-availability environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle database architecture.
• Proven knowledge of Linux systems and shell scripting (Bash, Python, Java).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and system monitoring tools like AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a proven ability to work under pressure.
• Familiarity with high-frequency change management, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of the application landscape across storage, OS, network, database, and application layers.
• Outstanding communication skills in English, both spoken and written, within a global organization.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments supporting production systems.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in Payments or financial services is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Puppet, Ansible, or similar configuration management tools.
