Exciting and challenging role as senior Java developer to work on a low latency front office trading (banking) application.

As a Senior Java Developer (BackEnd) you will be working on a low latency application : Investment Bank’s global intraday pre-deal credit-checking system, which is on the critical path to booking FX and Derivatives trades. It helps to provide centralised intraday control over credit risk.
Aim of the system you will work on :
- Front-office trading systems are using this system to check whether a trade would breach predefined credit exposure limits for the trade’s counterparty. (Real time integration)
- It maintains real-time intraday counterparty exposures and recalculates counterparty credit risk after each trade execution, enabling the new intraday exposure numbers to be available immediately
The role gives a great opportunity for an ambitious consultant to gain a unique experience in low latency candidates.
Your key Responsibilities: Software development of low latency system
- Work directly with a Scrum Team (sprint 2weeks) to perform technical analysis of the existing system, implement change requests and new features
- Work with an international team of developers based in Warsaw & London.
- Take part in design decision & implement sound solutions
- Take responsibility for changes that go through multiple tiers from the Java application through to the back-end databases
- Support the team by introducing new ideas, technologies, methodologies to improve the software landscape & usage
- Work on low latency, performance & scalability issues
- Integrate with new Front Office Trading applications
- Rewriting calculators (low latency challenge)
- Migrating infrastructure (Potential use of Cloud Technologies)
- Use technologies such as: Java 8+, Hibernate, Oracle Coherence, SOAP/Rest, PLSQL, Jenkins, GIT (others are welcome !)
The ideal candidate has:
- Strong Core Java developer with an emphasis on distributed, low latency, high availability systems
- Demonstrable experience with Dependency injection, preferably Hibernate
- Sound understanding of multi-threading (Java concurrency library) and Java memory management
- Good understanding of messaging (JMS)
- Basic command of SQL (CRUD) and UNIX
- Knowledge and understanding of current best practices in OO design in Java development
- Experience with all phases of the systems development lifecycle
- Experience with DevOps practices, CD/CIs – nice to have
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
