Senior Full Stack Developer – Platform Automation

As a Senior Full Stack Developer – Platform Automation, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution committed to transforming how technology supports banking operations. You will be instrumental in building scalable automation solutions for controls compliance in HSBC’s global engineering environment, driving operational excellence and technological innovation. Your main responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs, data schemas, and process flows to automate controls at scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand control requirements and engineer solutions that fulfill them efficiently.
• Lead analytical activities to assess control scope, identify automation opportunities, and define technical specifications.
• Develop workflows and integration mechanisms to automate controls across various platforms and tools.
• Demonstrate engineering excellence by delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions aligned with best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering automation, reuse, and process innovations.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting technical concepts and project updates clearly and persuasively.
• Mentor offshore teams and demonstrate technical leadership across global locations.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in software engineering, with a focus on full-stack development.
• Strong skills in Java programming language 
• Experience in API development, database schemas, and web technologies.
• Familiarity with internal/external developer platforms and cloud deployment.
• Comfortable working with Linux environments and understanding web infrastructure.
• Proven ability to deliver iterative technology solutions and manage stakeholder relationships at senior levels.
• Leadership skills, with experience in maturing offshore teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Experience working within banking/financial institutions.
• Certification in cloud computing or automation frameworks.

• Fluent English command (working proficiency)
