Senior DevOps Engineer – Platform Automation & Security

As a Senior DevOps Engineer – Platform Automation & Security, you will be working for our client, a leading organization dedicated to advancing platform reliability, automation, and security in a dynamic enterprise environment. You will design, build, and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines, enhance platform security, and explore AI-driven solutions to optimize development workflows. This role offers a prime opportunity to influence key aspects of platform infrastructure and drive scalable, secure, and innovative DevOps practices.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage GitLab components, configurations, and shared pipelines to promote efficiency and scalability.
• Build and maintain reusable CI/CD templates, pipelines, and best-practice patterns across teams.
• Integrate and manage DevSecOps tooling such as artifact repositories, secret management, security scans, and observability tools.
• Implement enterprise-grade GitLab Runners with Kubernetes, autoscaling, Docker, and shell environments, ensuring high reliability and security.
• Contribute to test automation frameworks and integrate automated quality gates (unit, integration, E2E, security scans).
• Explore and implement AI-enabled use cases within CI/CD, including intelligent test selection, code insights, and pipeline optimization, adhering to responsible AI principles.
• Collaborate with security, platform, and product teams to standardize workflows, enforce policies, and enhance developer productivity.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize pipeline performance, costs, reliability, and establish SLAs/SLOs and KPIs.
• Prepare documentation, runbooks, and enablement materials; deliver training and Tier 2/3 support for GitLab and related tools.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, self-service tools, and feedback loops.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 4+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or related fields.
• Deep expertise in GitLab administration and CI/CD pipeline design.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security tooling integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud or container orchestration.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python and/or Java.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a good command of English.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with a proactive approach.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Additional language skills such as German, Polish, Spanish.
• C/C++ knowledge or relevant security certifications.

• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
