As a Senior Data Privacy Evaluator, you will be working for our client, a major international financial institution committed to safeguarding data and building trust through robust privacy practices. You will play a critical role in managing data privacy controls, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance across multiple markets, helping shape a secure and transparent digital future.
Your main responsibilities:
- Guide business users across 67 markets and multiple global functions in the effective use of DataVisa, ensuring accurate input to meet compliance controls.
- Perform privacy assessments of operational processes, identifying and mitigating data risks through effective tools, training, and guidance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure proper understanding and implementation of data privacy initiatives within programs.
- Grow awareness and knowledge of evolving data privacy laws and regulations influencing HSBC operations.
- Act as a subject matter expert on data privacy and protection law, working with Legal, Data Privacy, and Regulatory Compliance teams.
- Develop, manage, and maintain data standards, policies, and methodologies aligned with global data privacy policies.
- Create and deliver guidance, training, and educational materials to promote best practices in data privacy management.
- Identify areas for improvement in local data privacy practices and support remedial actions.
- Assist in developing and implementing data privacy controls to ensure compliant data handling across the organization.
- Stay current with legislative requirements, conduct gap analyses, and support remedial work programs to mitigate ongoing risks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan future data privacy needs, ensuring alignment with global scope and strategies.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a privacy office or with Data Privacy officers.
- Deep knowledge of privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and quickly adapt to new concepts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate complex issues clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to identify and prioritize data risks effectively, understanding materiality.
- Confidence in explaining complex privacy issues to diverse audiences, bridging business, IT, and legal teams.
- Experience working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPM).
- Previous experience working with global regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of data governance tools and methodologies.
- Experience in the financial or regulated industries.
