Warsaw-based opportunity with a possibility to work in a hybrid model (2 days remote per week)

As a Java/Scala Developer, you will work for our client, a leading investment bank. You will join a team who is building a state-of-the-art technology center in Warsaw. currently looking for talented Java/Scala Developers to join and help solve challenging problems with a global reach.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design and implement new regulatory reporting software.
• Solve big data problems, ensuring data correctness while processing massive datasets.
• Develop effective data processing services within the data lake using Java/Spring/Spark/Scala.
• Partner with business users to understand their needs and suggest improvements to existing tools and processes.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of financial instruments across various asset classes.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a ownership mindset.
• Proficiency in Java programming.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, and query optimization.
• A solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance and resiliency.
• A passion for writing clean code and fostering a culture of code quality.
• An openness to learning new skills and technologies.

Nice to have skills:

• Experience or a strong interest in investment banking or financial products.
• Experience with big data concepts (Spark).
• Experience with Scala programming.
• Experience with BPMN and user workflow-based systems.
