This time we're co-operating with AdColony, the world’s premium mobile video ad network and an innovation leader in HD mobile video advertising, they're looking for an AWS Systems Engineer to join their newly and rapidly growing team in Warsaw, Poland.

The ideal candidate will be expected to perform high-quality systems deployment, operations, best practices application, optimization, and produce appropriate technical documentation and reports. He/she will be responsible for systems functionality, performance, and configurations issues. He/she will demonstrate a sound knowledge of Unix and Scripting concepts and theory and have experience participating in systems deployment and support. He/she will have a proven track record of success in driving complex issues to resolution autonomously and/or collaboratively. A love for working with new technologies and pushing the envelope on existing technology is required.


Responsibilities:


You should be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem-solving. This will include identifying and resolving issues, as well as automating and improving repetitive processes. You will become intimate with the architecture of the platform, and be responsible for diving deep into the details while developing solutions for our customers and services. You’ll drive prioritization of operational issues, and drive automation design, and scaling requirements in support of the wider organization.


Job requirements


  • 4+ year experience with any systems administration in Linux/Unix (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, Debian, FreeBSD, Solaris, etc.);
  • 4+ years of experience in 24x7 production environments;
  • 4+ years of development experience building scripts, tooling, and automation using any of the following such as Python and Bash/Shell;
  • 4+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS): EC2 auto-scaling groups, ELBs, S3, Route53, VPC, VPN, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.;
  • 2+ years Infrastructure as Code experience using all of: (Terraform, Ansible);
  • 2+ years Experience with Container Technology (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Helm);
  • BS in Computer Science or other technical degree and/or related experience. 

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Networking (TCP/IP, DNS)
  • Exposure to security concepts / best practices
  • Expertise with IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring / Troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloudwatch)
  • Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
  • Exposure to Virtualization (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor)
  • Exposure to other Google Cloud Platforms (GCP)
  • Experience troubleshooting system, application, and networking issues in a Linux environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing efforts in Unix environments, distributed systems and/or maintaining large-scale web applications
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
