Job description

This Security Architect will be responsible for securing the future of Intel's data center and communication products. In this job, you will cover security on an architectural level and implementation level. You join a small team of highly motivated Security Architects where your contributions will make a difference. You will collaborate with our global engineering teams and work on architecture definition for security features, research into security related topics, and more. You will be responsible for writing specifications, analyzing and reviewing the security stance of product design and implementation, with focus on hardware, software and firmware. Responsibilities include:
  • Define SOC and Network Controllers, Switches product security requirements, architecture, features and specification.
  • Define security mechanisms used in hardware, firmware, software protocols, etc.Gather requirements from international regulatory requirements, industry threat assessment data and internal corporate security policy.
  • Architect features and functions of silicon, device drivers, and user-mode applications which address security requirements.
  • Perform risk assessment including threat modeling and planned mitigations.
  • Define technologies required for next generation security architecture and working collaboratively with HW and SW organizations to bring to fruition.
  • Perform implementation reviews RTL, firmware code
  • Employ security engineering know-how and provide mentorship on secure design and coding to engineering and marketing teams.
  • Take part in all phases of Secure Development Life-cycle SDL, including secure design review, security requirements definition, and audits.
  • Participate in and lead client meetings revolving around security topics
  • Support System Architect for technical interface to customers and to the product development and validation teams.
  • Explore and analyze the state of the art in embedded security, specify innovative and disruptive security solutions and be involved in intellectual property processes in the field of security.
  • Interact with customers, and address implications of security features to customer deployment.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of experience in security product development.
  • 7 or more years of experience in a development role - device drivers or penetration-testing development and application.
  • Experience with cryptographic algorithms, protocols and standards.
  • Experience in performing HW/SW threat analysis and security/risk analysis.
  • Experience with access control architectures, virtualization technologies, security aspects of SOC System on a Chip debug and trace architectures.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture: CPU, SOC, chipsets, BIOS, firmware, drivers, and others.
  • Knowledge of End node Ethernet networking: drivers and silicon.
  • Knowledge of hardware, software, and firmware common security methodologies and their interactions.
  • Proven track record of architecting, designing, and delivering security solutions.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and inter-personal leadership skills
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Very good English.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in relatively unstructured environment.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.

Preferred:
  • 15+ years of experience in the design, development, and delivery of leading edge, high performance CPUs, SOCs or networking devices controllers, switches etc.
  • Excellent customer communication and collaboration skills.
  • Influence or established visibility in the security community.
  • Ability to work in a multi-geographical development environment, coordinating with other architects, engineers, marketers, and planners.
