ETRM Business Analyst with Allegro

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced ETRM Allegro Business Analyst to join our team and play a key role in driving business and functional design for energy trading solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Allegro Horizon, a strong understanding of the European power and gas trading markets, and the ability to work across business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead detailed requirements gathering and analysis for software projects in the energy trading domain
• Collaborate with traders, product owners, IT, and business managers to translate business needs into clear functional specifications and use cases
• Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, functional prototypes, reference data mappings, and test scenarios
• Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of business logic
• Provide functional leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including design walkthroughs, testing, and UAT
• Drive process improvements and recommend optimizations in trading operations and Allegro workflows
• Manage communication between business and technical teams, ensuring clarity and alignment
• Support solution architecture and integration design between Allegro and third-party systems (e.g., Trayport, Exxeta)
• Assist the Product Owner with backlog refinement and sprint planning

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in the ETRM domain, including strong exposure to power/gas trading and European energy markets
• Deep functional knowledge of Allegro Horizon with hands-on experience in:
• Customization and integration projects
• Trade lifecycle, valuation, market data, and P&L reporting
• Designing business flows and prototypes in Allegro
• Reference data design and automated setup scripts
• Solid understanding of end-to-end Allegro data flows and integration with external platforms (e.g., Trayport, Exxeta)
• Experience working across functional and technical teams, bridging communication and ensuring business goals are met
• Strong SQL skills, especially in the context of data validation and testing
• Proven experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence for requirement tracking and documentation
• Familiarity with functional testing and UAT coordination, including creation of test catalogs and defect tracking
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Capable of owning the functional delivery track in complex Allegro-based projects

Nice to Have

• Experience designing or contributing to solution architectures in the ETRM space
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in distributed teams
